ST 165 fuel cut out

Postby JohnNK » Thu Sep 01, 2011 6:18 am

My 88 ST-165 is cutting fuel at 3500 RPM. The factory boost gauge is not registering anything. Is the turbo gone or should I check fuel line issues?

hook up a boost gauge and see what your getting, you could actually be over boosting on stock settings. find out if thats it then you can trick your boost sensor to stop fuel cut for less than $1.

Thanks. The previous owner installed a manual boost control. I which check to see if it is over boosting.

also boost controllers and the boost vsv (vacuum solenoid valve) do not play well togther, so if the vsv is still hooked up to the wastegate remove the line and cap the ends
