Gary i really like the placement of your TT there, never seen that done before. very clean & out of the way, yet you don't loose the clock, air vent(s), din/cubby under the stereo or cupholders. when we get a TT i may have to steal that idea.

Thanks.
I put it there because I don't want the timer to attract any thief.
I wish my timer was black though.
I did cut the ash tray in order to fit the timer in.
The ash tray was no use to me anyway.
It's also cheap and easy to find one.

I like gary's idea. I was gonna throw my Greddy TT and EBC iun the cupholder place but im getting a command start right away and it has a TT feature so ill probably put my EBC where gary's TT is. Anyone else have pics?

I've mounted my Type 1 on the steering column. Ideal location allthough it's a bit bright @ night. However using the 'shiftlight' function it is VERY handy to put it there and see a red flash when batteling on the freeway :D (all the warning functions are very noticeable when placed there btw (rev, speed, voltage, etc)

Come on Meurz, thats an old pic..........show us a recent one. You know with the stack and HKS goods :P

Hey Rip,

I like what you did with the ash tray. I am thinking about just making a plate that will replace that section for me to place my boost controller.

^ actually Gary did that.
i think we're going to place an HKS fan controller in the ashtray area & keep the cupholder area empty.
i might make some sort of blank out panel for the cupholder someday once all our gauge setup is finally installed & completed.

i'll post pics once the alarm install is finished & wires aren't hanging everywhere.

Rene - the interior looks so clean & lovely! 8)
we got a Works Bell Rapfix setup w/lock like yours installed on R2 & we love it!!

Ah, I see. I might do something like that.

Here are some triple gauge din.

http://www.boostcontroller.com/index.php?category=82

The price isn't bad. I would have gotten a Blitz din panel a while ago if they were not so stupid expensive.
They held one gauge and (2) 1/4 DIN devices, like a boost controller and turbo timer.

I am debating if I want to put my cup holder back in. I will always need to have water with me, but I thought about this cup holder I saw in a race car once. It was mounted on the front of the seat between the drivers legs to hold his water. I got a newish cup holder years ago, but unless I make the radio recessed, then the overlap interferes with my gauge mounting.

Here is an interesting setup someone did on a suby. The only reason I might ever need a switch is for water injection or something of the like. If that was the case, I would just use the lighter spot for a switch.

those blitz din panels are/were very nice they way they would hold the smaller rectangular shaped items like turbo timer, boost controller etc.
i've seen a couple for sale on mr2oc off & on but they usually get snapped up quick.
you could prolly fab one up from thin sheet metal like the suby guy did on his.

i don't care for what that suby guy did with all the switches, not really my thing but the install was cleanly done.

i can't find it anymore but i saw a pic of a triple gauge pod this suby guy mounted on his dash - he molded it into the dash & it looked really nice. it was just above the clock/hvac vents area.

i like the idea of the switch where the lighter goes - good to keep in mind for something like a h/e sprayer bar switch.

^ You're probably referring to the "defi triple gauge hood" set up. It's been popularized with subaru and defi, as they made a hood that snaps into their dash.

I had planned to do this with my spare dash by cutting out a square, having it snap in place, etc. I have a spare dash, and there doesn't seem to be much hindering in the area directly beneath.

I like having a sleeper, but I like to see my gauges. The A-pillar makes it hard to see around left corners for me, so i'm getting rid of that set up.
