that's not me, that's one Supra-guy... I'm using Japanese 90915-10004

btw, creating this thread I just wanted to share my feeling that not all "genuine parts" are created equal
and this feeling was confirmed :shoots:

I recently picked up a filter and 4L of oil for my 90' st 185 at Scarborough Lexus. Cost me $21 dollars and change. Cheaper probably then Canadian tire or Walmart (neither of whom seem to carry the filter I need anyway). It's only a filter, but it's still neat using OEM. And ya, I remember seeing that it was made in Thailand. But you have to remember, whomever Toyota is using to make there oil filters, they are trusting them on there warrantied engines (I realize our cars aren't warrantied anymore, I'm taking generally), so regardless where they are made, they are probably good.

I read that new toyota's come with the Japanese Filters, but as soon as it needs that first oil change, your forced to buy the thailand filter.

Made in Thailand doesn't always mean the filters are made by suppliers in Thailand.
Toyota do have their own factory producing their stuff in Thailand.
I've been there. :)
