I keep seeing peoples clean garages and wondering where the heck they keep their spare tires and spare parts?

I built shelves and got cordinated containers to store the parts in and bought a tire rack.

I would need a 10x10 shed out back of the house to accomplish that.

I have a shed with all my items that are not garage worthy inside it. Only important items go on garage shelves.

I make a conscious effort to not store junk (my wife would say I'm not very good at it.) This is my garage as of a few minutes ago:

The other cars, tools and misc. toys are in the shop.

EDIT: added "not"

10m x 10m maybe, I have a fairly small 2 car garage that's completely filled by tools, shelves of dirty spare parts (cleaner ones are in the basement), a spare engine and transmission, dirtbike, work bench and I think 21 spare tires. My old GTS is in there as well but you couldn't easily drive it in and out right now. I need to clean some garbage out of there but that will still only leave me with 1 usable bay. I've also considered moving the tires to the basement but I don't really want to haul 8 wheels and tires up and 8 back down twice a year.

Consider me jealous.

I was renting a 1200 sq ft garage (and parking for my 40' trailer) because I had outgrown both stalls and the basement at my house.

Winter Storm Jonas (late Jan) brought the roof down onto two cars (luckily not the ST185) and lots of equipment

The MR2 racecar

and a street MR2 that I had gotten back from the shop that did a V6 swap just 2 days before the storm.

Both will be fixed with one parts car that I bought. No insurance on the racecar liability only on the street car

Homeowners insurance would have covered loss of equipment, but my deductible was $1000 and my replacement cost was only $1500 (big stuff was mostly Harbour Freight and some of the equipment was 15 years old so I would not have gotten full replacement value) so I dropped the claim.

After moving recently, I have been working diligently to clear boxes from the garage to make room for the car. The new garage is smaller than my old one so I've had to cram things anywhere I can get it. Here's where I finally made space for the Celica :)

I didn't want to leave my canoe outside so I looked around for a well made hoist system to store it in the garage too. Really neat product that can be used for a lot of things, if interested, check out Harken hoists.

I just sold the white one last week, got the red All-Trac running two days ago. Now I need to find a new project for the 3rd spot.
