Water temp sensor in W:A IC?

Would it be a dumb idea to hook up a temp sensor to the W:A IC in my 165? I'm going to be curious what kind of abuse it's getting as I both start turning up boost as well as just how hot it gets with prolonged boosting at any levels.

Basically, I want to start tuning my car to work for 25-30 minute lapping sessions, and that's going to involve making sure my IC doesn't heat saturate.

I actually just did exactly that like 2 weeks ago. I bought a Nordskog digital temp gauge, cuz It reads as low as 60 degrees farenheit. I basically used heater hose fittings and a brass T to plumb everything. got the gauge mounted on my pillar.
I find it to be very useful and I love it! because Now I can start doing mods to the cooling system(i.e. fan/water wetter/ turning the pump on constant) and know exactly how it affects my system.
the air temp outside today was like maybe 80F. when I started the car after work(it had been sitting for about 9 hours) the water temp was about 102F. that just shows you how long it takes the car to cool down. Driving around it cooled down to maybe 90F. but sitting at a light it will go up fairly quickly to like 120F-140F.

Probably more from sitting in the sun. 9 Hours should be plenty to cool the car down, even after a hard run.
I know it's plenty for my coolant temps to go below 100 deg.
