ok well to be perfectly honest i totally forgot about this post after being lazy about going out to my car and doing it. i WILL measure the lengths of the oil lines tomarrow. i still dont see that much interest in this mod for the st165 guys. is the st185 engine swap that much better to go with and are we (st165 ppl) wasting our time?

We would ALL benefit from this mod.
Think about how many of us are runing hybrid motor/turbo set-ups...1G/2G/3G 3SGTE, single/twin entry CT26, Supra CT26, CT20B - in any one of those block/head/turbo combinations. In any one of those combinations - except for factory, they all require some kind of modification to the oil lines/pipes.
Personally I dont like having to bend the factory pipes cause it kinks and weakens the walls of the tube, not to mention, effecting oil pressure.
If there was a universal oil line kit for the 3S/CT2x, I would be all over it.

while running braided lines is an easy way to get around having to fit lines, NOTHING beats using hard lines. I see braided lines as a good choice for guys running hybrid setups, but if there's any way of doing hard lines at all, then i would do that.

anyway. cool idea, and good save from a lot of hassle.

Ya, I forgot about this too...

My feed line is about 18" from the block to the turbo. There is just enough slack in it. A couple inches longer wouldn't be a problem.

Both my cars that have t3/t4's have the banjo adapter on the block side... I can't remember where I got them from or what size.. maybe someone can chime in on that.

Ok i just went out and measured my lines. This is on a st165 with the twin entry conversion (ct26) just to make things clear.

- the RETURN was measured at 13.5" from the flange on the turbo up to the 90 degree elbow going into the pan. (that measurement doesnt include the length of the elbow, but on my return line i had to convert the end from -10an to -12an so the length includes that adapter)

- the FEED line was measured at 5.5" from the flange on the turbo up to the 90 degree elbow going into the KOracing feed adapter made for the st165. I noticed that i could possibly make that line a bit shorter, when i swap on my ct27 i will prob make it 5.0"-5.25" instead just so there is slightly less of an arch in the line.

*on a st185 id imagine the feed line would be an inch or two longer b/c the fitting is directly mounted on the block and not mounted on the oil cooler like the st165.

note: i measured the lines while on the car but this pic was before they were installed. i had the lines made by Aaron at rabidchimp.com and initially i gave him meaurements that were too long so i had to buy a couple ends and an adapter from summitracing to make it work. it wasnt Aarons fault and the lines were great quality and still look like the day i put them on.
