Postby 91redst185 » Mon Oct 25, 2004 11:02 pm

how hard is the swap? does it bolt right in or is there custom work to be done? is it worth it or just do the JDM 185 motor? planning on doing a swap this winter.

Why?

Is something wrong with your engine?

You're going to get mixed reviews, but if you need to replace the stock motor, yes it drops right in, just make sure you can get an ECU and harness and hopefully the WTA I/C.

I did the swap, and I love it. I think it's a good way to go if you want to have a little more power to start with and you're more interested in building up your handling. But if you want all out power, you could probably build a very strong 185 motor for the same price.

im pulling my motor to do a slow build up and i want to have one in there so i can still drive it. i think the 185 motor would be a cheaper swap, wouldn't it?

Yep. 205 motors are harder to come by and higher priced.

but you're looking at 260hp stock compared to 200. Just depends on what's important to you.
