Actually you don't :wink: I know people that push 370whp on a stock block, which would be about 450 crank hp. Eng management IS a must at that kind of power though. Only thing you would need to mod to hit that kind of power internally would be to port the head. Aside from that, the stock rods are excellent, same with pistons and crank. Though if you're going to see extended high rpm use I'd recommend getting stock rods rebalanced and shot peened.

Crank should be fine. Pistons I would change. And definitly stud the head.
