3s-gte blokk

If you're asking that question, you probably don't know the first thing about what you need to do to your car to get 450 bhp. You should start smaller first... For 450bhp you're going to need to build the everloving shit out of that engine (rods/pistons/crank/head/etc.) as well as a full engine management system, and a ton of experience modding and blowing shit up, as well as a lot of money. Good luck...

Actually you don't  I know people that push 370whp on a stock block, which would be about 450 crank hp. Eng management IS a must at that kind of power though. Only thing you would need to mod to hit that kind of power internally would be to port the head. Aside from that, the stock rods are excellent, same with pistons and crank. Though if you're going to see extended high rpm use I'd recommend getting stock rods rebalanced and shot peened.

How embarrassing

From everything on the boards, it sounds like sure, those people exist, but if you wanna do it safely, build the hell out of your engine first. Engines on stock internals past 400hp's lifespans seem pretty limited.

i know more than you think.... i just don`t know how mutch the 3s-gte block and the different parts can take!!!!!!!!

my mods are: portet head, custom manifoil, t34, 550ccm, fpr, 255l\h fuel pump, st205ic w wather pump,3" , mhg, arp head studs, autronic smc.........350bhp?!? All done by me!!!!

(i have a autonic log that shows 0-60 in 4.2sec....)

by the way.... i`m pretty shure the crank it up for 450bhp!!!!!

Pretty sure this is true.
I'm (very slowly as I get the $$) rebuilding my original 3S-GTE. Problem is that I spun a bearing in the bottom end & I'm guessing I'll have to get the crank miced, but I'm more than likely leaving the bottom end stock. Re-building the top end though pretty much completely.
Shooting for 350-400bhp, ummm maybe 2 years down the road & she'll be all ready to go :smokes:

thats very true but for how long will it last ??? I mean you can skate by with the shot peened rods but the piston would definitly need to be change out ... And I would suggest that you get a thicker head gasket... Plus why micky mouse it ... might as well spend the money and do it right the first time ...

What do you guys think about a sticky note on this subject? This sorta reminds me of "how much hp can the stock shortblock handle?" We've seen this same info get posted pretty often.

I dunno, just a thot.

My guess [I've never built one of these engines] is the rods will be fine, tho it wouldn't hurt to shotpeen them. IF you've got them out, and have the $$, have them balanced too.
Crank should be fine. Pistons I would change. And definitly stud the head.

ì`v have arp studs in the head.... (se one of my previus posts  )

I also going to get arp main studs....(conects the rods to the crank)[/quote]
