But that means he can only boost very low on regular fuel, not something I'd like to have in my GT-Four. I even thought about mapping the 2.2 with 95 octane because last year during the road trip through Italy I wasn't able to get 98.

need opinions, can stock gen 3 rods and pistons make 300awhp with a gtx2860rs, E85 and a FMIC, tuned with a haltech ps1000?
its what I want im worried the motor wont take it?
looking for it to last 12 months minimum and motor is healthy at the moment (compression test, running arp head studs and cometic gasket)
what you guys think? have debated using a 3071 and just use more boost and be conservative on the timing to avoid detonation...

The weak spot are the ring lands of the Gen 3 hypereuretic pistons which regularly break at 300-330 engine hp.
Most guts from the GT-Four.ch forums have reported this over the last years.
On the other hand my engine, also tuned using a PS1000, didn't break when running 1.2bar with the stock CT20b for years.
The conrods can take over 500Nm, so you don't have to care about them but I'd advise swapping the pistons.

I don't want to call BS, but there is something not right about that dyno plot.

HP = (Torque x RPM) / 5252

That means the HP curve should cross the Torque curve at 5252 RPM. :crazy:

You missed that that only applies when dyno plot is in hp\lbft. This is in hp\nm. ( and not even scaled in the same way on the plot. ( 800 vs 840)

But there are a few more things i would like to see than a plot with NO info at all on it. dynapack papers are easy to change within the software. so need some more data before i trust that one..

With NM they cross at 7023,5rpm, but the scale for nm and hp are not the same so the lines don't cross at 7023,5rpm but if you look closer at 7023,5rpm the power and torque are the same.

You're right, those are the details I missed.

Thank you for that detail. It's a lot less obvious with the different HP/Tq scales, but I see it now.

That's why I didn't want to call BS, I knew I was missing something.
