2grfe swap?

Q&A regarding engines, turbos, and intercoolers and power upgrades

If you S/C the 1mz you'll just have to deal with low rpm lean out issues & lots of heat generated from the S/C.
Not only that but the TRD S/C's can be hard to come by & used ones usually go for around $2k which is more than what they cost brand new.
I do have a Camry friend trying to sell one now so if you are interested Terracar, lmk.
Rebuilding the S/C which is a roots type blower is also exceptionally expensive & some people put quite a few miles on their S/C's.

Personally I'd do a single turbo on the 1mz .. piping & location would be a pain but I think it would be worth it.

I think most people would agree if you are going to supercharge or even turbo something then you are going to have to overhaul the fuel system and get a standalone +/- forged pistons. I don't know anyone who would recommend the TRD. It is a tiny non-intercooled roots for low rpm torque. To do it properly you need a decent twin screw and custom water to air install. Basically you are looking at $10k+ to do the whole thing which is a terrible investment.

Single turbo would be easier but once again you can't get past the standalone, fuel and pistons unless you are happy with 3psi.

Darth & Tw2 -

I am aware of the pitfalls of using the TRD supercharger, the rarity, and the obsurd cost. I believe we are getting off topic, but to answer the questions, this would be a custom setup using and MP90 S/C and stand alone. forged bits have been looked into with some potentials already available.

Sorry. Awesome choice, I hope it gets off the ground. The eaton superchargers are not as expensive as I thought.

Almost there in my 5th gen.

So far pretty easy.

Got the electric power steering all in, the battery is in the trunk. Just need to move my cars around so I can get to swappin.
