Hey guys. So im in the middle of a turbo upgrade on my 90 3sgte and am at the stage of getting a parts list together for the fmic stage. I am going to put a bov in mainly to protect the new turbo, but am not sure if i should get one which vents to atmosphere or back into the intake ? I've read about the possible stalling if it's not piped back to the intake but also have seen on the forum setups without it. What's the deal ?

Really should know what computer you running? If stock with air flow meter....mine won't stay running with hks special edition.

Mine stalls with air flow with hks, its open just enough. Some people don't have issues venting. You just have to try it.

I have a turbo XS bov installed on my intercooler. The car never stalled, but I found it didn't help the engine run very smoothly during shifts.

I've since removed the vacuum line which assists the valve so now it only opens when really harping on the car.
