Cylinder head serial numbers

Postby knowitalls » Thu Jan 16, 2014 5:40 am

I there a way to identify the year of a head by using the numbers on the head?

One of mine is 11111-88380.
The other is 11111-88383

Searched but to no avail.

Not sure about part numbers but later years head would get exhaust manifold with 9 studs instead of 7.

This should help you out some
http://www.alltrac.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=38772

The 11111-88383 is listed as a JDM head. I dont have the parts numbers for the US spec heads but if the 11111-88383 one does not have EGR porting then it is a 1990 JDM head. If it does then it is us spec, either way that one is a 2nd gen non RC head. As for the 11111-88380 I could not find any info on it.
