looking to get 300hp

Postby yotaboy93 » Tue Dec 23, 2014 11:40 pm

Just curious as to what things I need to do to get in the 300hp range. I already have 3" exhaust and a front mount intercooler. . What should I start with?

Do you want 300hp at the crank, which is what is stated by vehicle manufacturers when they sell cars/trucks, or are you looking for hp at the wheels? Subaru WRX STi's list at 305hp but at the wheels put down 235 typically. Quite a difference between the two. One is easily obtained, the other needs more money thrown at it.

I would like to get it to the wheels. At least close to 280 or so

300hp to wheels = aftermarket turbo, more fuel, standalone engine management = $$$$$
275 at crank = maxing out the factory turbo (CT27), fuel injectors, and getting a ATS ROM tune
in addition to your exhaust and front mount

300whp is hard. My list is:
Cushioned button clutch
Haltech ps1000 with wideband and dash
Gtx2867 turbo
Front mount
3"turbo back exhaust.
Plus little issues like needed thinner radiator fans. Swapped to cop. Etc
Arp head studds and cometic gasket on a gen 3.
Should have forged pistons but that's the next step.
Dyno it in 6th of June so will let you know how close I get

Or go gen 3 3sgte. That's what I did! It's not near as hard to get 300awhp with this engine. There is one guy on here with a gen 3 who hit 320awhp with nothing but water/meth injection and a boost controller at 21 psi. I think he had an intake, fmic, and exhaust as well
