High cold oil pressure

Postby aus jd 2703 » Fri Jul 10, 2015 10:58 pm

Hey guys I just added a oil cooler. It's all 10AN and a large 25row core. Greddy/grex sandwich plate thermostat and my cold oil pressure at idle is like 65psi. It drops down to about 35psi when at 70'c and idling. What's everyone else's cold pressure? Is it this high? Should I be worried?

Pressure is taken from the head where the old switch was.
Temp was in the sump.
Idle hot is 750rpm and cold about 1250.
Cold temp was about 17'c

normal, let the car start to warm up a bit before driving. oil pressure reduction is a good indicator of actual engine tempature vs water temperature
