Why am I overboosting?

Postby Rallly » Mon Feb 22, 2016 6:59 pm

Hey guys, I ended up going 2.5 exhaust straight to the back, dp, mp, and boost seems to want to surpass 13-14 and beyond. I will be installing a fcd shortly cuz I am very easily hitting boost cut, but I worry that I will still be overboosting past my oem turbo's threshold of 14psi after the fcd install... What should I do so I don't go passed 14? Is this even normal after exhaust work?

Is a catted? You mostly overboost with a cat less exhaust system.

Yes catless, dp, mp. Exhaust is straight through to the back.

Have a boost controller? Able to dial it back? Is your wastegate working? Check the hoses to and from the wastegate actuator. Some people have also reported that the wastegate flapper sometimes fouls with the DP. I'd check that

Figured it out guy's, I had a couple top dp nuts missing so air was escaping. Solid at 12psi now, time for MBC and FCD:)
