5sfe block transfer case not fitting

Postby outinnowhere3193 » Mon Jun 20, 2016 2:14 am

Has anyone done the 5s block build? I have a completely pieced together setup and ran into yet another issue again today.

So details on my built is

5sfe block and crank with journals turned to match 3s rods.

Atsracing pistons
Eagle rods
Moroso oil pan
Ats oil pump
Gen 3 head
Gsc s2 cams
Hks sprokets

Id2000cc injectors. Calling ats tomorrow about some adapters

Had some bracket issues I had to alter to make it work.

And finally tonight tried installing the transmission and transfer case. But the transfer case is rubbing the block to much to get it on. Pulled out the grinder to start grinding and my grinder took a crap.

Anyone done a 5s n a alltrac?

you had the right answer. Somewhere there's a thread with pictures of how much needs to be ground away.

There's quite a bit of grinding needed to clear the transfer case and depending on the year of the block, you may need to tap it for the support bracket to be bolt on. I added a few pics of what I did in my build thread.
