Proposed and organized group buys

I dropped my old tank off at at a local performance shop so he can start on the reprodution tank. He is a pretty talented aluminum fabricator judging by the examples of his work that Ive seen. Im told that it will be 2 weeks before the prototype is done then we can test fit & go from there. Tank comes with a new level sender & fuel sender with roll over valve & -an fittings as I have discussed with the fabricator.
Once the prototype is done and ready to go we will price out what theyd cost in bulb getting the aluminum cut from the supplier to exact dimensions so all he has to do is weld everything up. Right now he is building me a tank that slants towards the back so total fuel volume is unknown at this point. It doesnt necessarily have to slant if people dont want it to I just figured get it done the way I want mine so I dont have to worry about getting another one later on.

I just got the tank back late this week and am working on fitting it right now. The end result wasn't what I had speced out but im running out of time to get the car ready for the track so I have to run what I have. I'm still working on the tank straps and the filler neck. I will update when I'm not spending 40 hrs a week after work on the car. I got about 800 bucks into the design of this tank and it looks like I shouldnt have delegated the design process to the fabricator. He couldn't figure out how to use the lock ring for the new sender so it is screwed to the tank instead

Curious to see how this works out. My tank, so far, is OK but it would be really good to have an alternative.

As promised I am here to update. Below are some pictures of what I am running right now. Its just the prototype and as such the tank is not ready. It doesnt have any provision for fuel slosh around the pickup as of yet but with only 5 gallons in it/hard cornering I have no issues to report. Havent put alot of miles on it or ran it very low on fuel as the filler neck is not finished 100 percent. The fabricator could not figure out how to fit a lock ring so I will have to redo everything but it is working as expected.
-installed on car
-it has quick disconnect plastic lines running to the filler neck. It has a 0-95 ohm sensor that I have flipped so it reads correctly just may need a 20 ohm resistor to be as close to the factory one as it can get (my factory one measured 18 ohms to 132 ohms)
-temp filler neck

sweet whats the weight on that badboy, looks around 20-25lbs?

I have not weighted it. It isnt nearly as heavy as the oem tank. The drivers side tank strap fits almost perfectly and the passenger side one is a little loose so I have yet to see what I need to do there. Its solidly in place so far but I have some more to do on the car before I can keep running it. I will be making a new tank as soon as I get caught up on some bills that is exactly what I envisioned for a reproduction. The tank seems to hang down a little lower then the rear subframe and I need to see why that is exactly. I dont recall if the stock tank hung any lower then the subframe if anyone has that information or pictures.

I've only got a pic of the hanging bolts for reference but I think the subframe itself is supposed to be higher viewtopic.php?f=44&t=44216&start=30

Im curious how the tank is going? Im still looking for an option as replacement OEM tanks are not really around often.
