The ST185 wheel size thread (offsets, widths, etc)

Right now I’m rolling 195 55 r16 87H Bridgestone Blizzaks and have 205 50 r16 87V Vredestein Quatracs for spring through fall.

I know I know 16s. But when you’re in Colorado having some sidewall is a welcome thing. Ask me how I know. The 16s with Feals on my ST185 GT-Four are a much better ride than the 17s and low grade BCs on my MR2 but previous owner went the low grade BC coilovers on the MR2 not my choice.
Honestly do you think the 16's are better? I have some enkei 16s on it now but when come next winter I was gonna upgrade the wheel package some OZ ultraleggeras and blizzaks.

I'd do the +35's with spacers, seems to be the safest bet, as the more positive setup should bring in the tires 10mm in which would probably rub. How I understand is more offset means less backspacing which means less tire 'poke'.
I'm having difficulty finding a +35 with a Volk TE37 face type 4

If you go 17s you will find that you want to stay on the hardball roads. 16s are better for occasional dirt road excursions. As you already have the 16" Enkeis you could let those be your Blizzak wheels, and feel free to do what you want with the 17" Ultraleggeras. In Colorado, I find that a good all-season like the Michelin Pilot Sport or the Vredestein Quatrac is appropriate--the afternoon rainstorms turn our roads slick.
