most important that you measure both the internal diameter and distance separating the 2 x mounting holes on the ST185 coil over strut and the ST165 hub carrier.

i was sent some DMS coil overs for a USDM ST185, and they did not line up with the mounting points on the hub of my UK ST165.....

Rob from 935 has them fitted on his ST165. I believe it's just a spacer.

the predrilled holes were approx 2mm too small on the struts. possibly M12 vs M14?

and the centres of the 2 mounting holes differed by around 16mm (too close iirc)

it was over 2 years ago so i'm guessing the above measurements because i can't honestly remember

st165 holes are smaller

So to be techinical, you could bolt them on using st165 bolts. However, with the roughly 2mm of slop, it would be difficult to get alignment set.

The spacers we have, basically take up the difference in space, so that you can easily bolt them on. You still need an alignment though.

I struck this today while fitting my 185 coilovers to my 165.

Fronts, mounts up good, the brake line bracket hits the body, needs to be bent, and the brakeline doesn't fit nice in th bracket without modification. Hub needs to be drilled out to 16mm holes from 14mm, and new bolts fitted.

Rears mount ok up the top, swaybar link hole is tight and one needed slight expansion for the link to fit, sway bar has to be raised a bit to fit up and has a bit of stress on it. Bolt holes on the suspension need to be drilled out to 15mm, and the bottom hole to be sloted up as theres about 20mm difference between 165 bolt holes on hub, and 185 coilovers.

Will have them fitted up tomorrow hopefully, just need to slot the rears up, and will advise on the difficulty, and how much stress the sway bar is under when loaded up.
