st205 rear rotor/caliper source?

Me and Rene are going through this at the moment. Ive sourced my calipers, but ran into a few problems with them.

Discs wise...its DBA or Mr T for me. All the Jap options take way too long, i.e. Zeal Super 6 discs 6-7week wait. I got quoted $179.50AU each for rear discs from mr.T, so it might be similar for you guys. Thinking about getting mr T discs and get them slotted at a local mill. Already bought goodridge rear braided lines.

Pads are available from greenline, check it out! Rene asked for them to be put up, and they were a few hours later :D

Here are shots of my rear calipers, and the problems i ran into:

They will still work fine, but i plan to put ap 5.1 brake fluid which isnt cheap (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/AP-RACING-BRAKE- ... dZViewItem) So i dont want to remove the calipers again later for this...

I know a set of rear calipers for sale, but the postage price to you will be a killer..

We use EBC discs imported direct. They come in basic uncoated form and also a nickle plated version that is grooved and dimpled. Shipping is a killer. We have both versions in stock, $300 for basic and $350 for grooved and dimpled, and we aren't making ANY money off these. I think you'll find that most of the used calipers look like those above...

There is a set on ebay for ~ 200, but its 90 bucks to ship them here. Frankly, I would build get a st205 rotor and a wilwood caliper and make my own bracket before I spend that much on a caliper that may need rebuilding soon.

One reason I wish I bought a st205 clip instead of just an engine is that I might have gotten a better deal on little stuff like that. Oh well..

Exactly what I'm doing. I want the calipers for a line lock application for... other project. :D

Edit: Found everything. Thanks all.

You can get rotors from japanparts.com Might save on shipping since they are in the states.

If I am reading the link you posted, the new calipers are cheaper from them then used calipers.

But it looks like they only deliver within the UK.. I didn't see them mention otherwise..

Are the 205 calipers aluminuim like the Supra TT?
Yeah, they're quite the same. Dunno about the bolt pattern, but they are indeed alu and use the same pads.

Got them for a killer price, but what was really great is the seller had them in stock!!! paid wednesday, recieved thursday, great service, paid $399AU incl express postage.

My goodridge lines have arrived, calipers are all set and good, discs here. Hopefully get time to fit these bad boys up during the long weekend.

Thats my brake upgrades done! :D

Might get some more aggresive rear pads like Rene when mine run out, but since mine are new dont see the point in throwing them away.

Hi sikx5,

how have you approached the issue of a 55mm ID internal bore of the ST205 rotor sitting on an ST185 54.1mm stub axel?

cheers for any info.

regards

Gary

I was thinking a .9mm thin sheet metal cut out? I went ahead and fitted them up without the spacer.

I used the pads they came with, just new toyota ones. Then fitted them up with the goodridge braided lines. It was a pretty straight forward swap, no dramas for a change :)
My brake upgrades are now done, Just need to get a full aluminium radiator and im ready for track work :D

those are some pretty and rare wheels you have.

I'm curious if those rotors match any other car that Toyota has produced but with the 5x114.3 pattern because my Celica is no longer 5x100.
I would imagine mk4 supra rears would be similar. Most of my issues so far have been the sizes of the E-brake bits underneath, mk3 supra's have larger ones than that of a celica
