17's need tires

Hey I know I'm gonna get kicked in the nuts for this one, I used the search but grew tired of what I was going through.

This is for my ST185,I have a set of 17x7.5" +35mm offset TTE wheels. I was wondering what a good size tire would be to use. I really don't want a 215 width, 225 or 235 would be nice. I want some sidewall meat too. I was looking into 235/40's but a friend was saying they would sit too high. I was also suggested a set of 235/35 and it does seem like a perfect size but I go to tirerack.com and 0 items found. So what looks good and what works. Pics are a plus. BTW I have 1" spacers in the rear.Thanks a million

How about 225/40/17
almost the same size as mine (225/45/16)

whoa the price on the GRB's went up. Discount is selling them for $155 each. Last time I looked they were 93 each. Wowza

I've got 225/45 17's on the pic in my sig. I dont think they stand too tall, my car is lowered as well. My rims also sport a +35 os. The tires are Kumho (Kuhmo whatever the hell it is) Ecsta Supra 712's or something similar. They were only like 90-95 apiece from tirerack.

35 is not a lot of meat for sidewall, i have 40 on my rims, 225/40/17, nitto neo gens and i love em, like 95ish a piece

i have 215/40/17 on 17x7 +35.

seeing what the tires look like with the 2 dents i received but now somewhat pounded out and the 2 rims rebalanced, i wish i had 235/40/17 tires.

john was running 235/40/17s on the white 17x8 rims he had.

blake is running 235/40/17 on 17x7 rims and did auto crossing.

Sidewal height is relative to tire width, a 215/40 is going to have a smaller sidewall then a 235/40. A 215/40 has only .2" more sidwall then a 235/35 and a 235/40 has .3" more sidewall then a 215/40.
