Hey guys just a quick one. Wana put some 5mm spacers on my 40 offset Oz chrono wheels to make them 35 offset. DO i need to run longer wheel studs so the nut has more thread to grab on to?
There are hub centric and the centre hole is 54.1mm is this correct for the car. I thin kit was but wana make sure

And are th wheel studs M12x1.5? As i might get new nuts also

I have a JDM narrow body 185

Cheers

i found studs with the same spline count as the factory ones. I cut my studs down to suit my application.
From there, I pressed out the hub, pressed the studs out, pressed the new studs in and pressed the hub back in (note I did install new bearings because that was part of the activity I was doing)

While this post is old, I was PM'd regarding info on my studs.
Sharing is caring :)

The stud's I used were NS3400 from Nice products.
http://www.niceproducts.com.au/catalogu ... /wheel.php

(go to longer wheel studs area)

Knurl Diameter = 14.4mm
Length = 73.0mm
Shoulder = 8.8mm

Manufacturer specs here (pg2)
http://www.niceproducts.com.au/catalogu ... Toyota.pdf

Factory spec:
Knurl Diameter = 14.1mm
Length = 40.4mm
Shoulder = 7.7mm

I cut my studs down to suit my application (which didn't end up happening with the brake kit I ended up with). But those are the products and specs for the studs which should help others.

Cheers

Oem toyota landcruiser studs are not longer. They are the same part number.

2nd gen Tacoma rear studs have a longer shoulder, but same knurl and diameter.
They are 5mm longer. I have fit them on my front hubs with no modification.
...not much longer but being able to buy them from the local auto store for $2/stud was a nice alternative especially with 5mm spacers. 8mm spacers puts thread engagement right below minimum with my rpf1 wheels.

I'm just adding to this old thread for anyone searching

Also... minimum thread engagement on 12x1.5 wheel studs is 12mm or 8 turns.

I use these with open-ended wheel nuts:
