Anyone know?

48231 SPRING, COIL, REAR
48231‑2B550 ST185 (10/1989 - 07/1991)
48231‑2D170 ST185 (08/1991 - 08/1993)

Is ride height different? Any good profile pics of a 90-91 and 92-93 that would show if there's a height difference?

Anyone ever seen any sources on Spring rates?

I think they changed the strut itself 92-93 as well (first part number in each set is the only listed part for 90-91. 92-93 lists both)
48530 ABSORBER ASSY, SHOCK, REAR RH
48530‑20600 ST185, MARK 48530-20600
48530‑20680 ST185, MARK 48530-20680

48540 ABSORBER ASSY, SHOCK, REAR LH
48540‑20600 ST185, MARK 48540-20600
48540‑20680 ST185, MARK 48540-20680

Generally speaking from Toyota experience when they change spring part numbers along with strut numbers within the same model run it is to match the spring rate to the strut valving. It probably was an increase in spring rate accompanied by an increase in valving. Or it could be a decrease due to the larger front sway bar found on the 92-93
Maybe someone has an old stock photo of both years we could compare although that in itself would be difficult. I will check the New car features books on TIS and see if the answer is in there.
