St185 CV axles????

Postby peteleetzor » Thu Oct 23, 2014 3:53 pm

So im in the process of replacment the axle, hubs, and bearing. I came accorss an issue and Im not sure which one to use for the axle. I did a quick search on Oriley and this came up. The only difference between the 5031 and 5085 is that the lenght for the 5031 is 4 inch shorter then the 5085. Any idea which one I need?

The first item is the Part # : 60-5031

Second item was Part Number: 60-5085

60-5031 is a ST185 axle.

Rockauto lists TO-8030 as an 88-91 Camry axle. Which according to this thread, should work. If in doubt, measure the length and compare it to the old one.

That axle should work, but it won't have the tone ring for the wheel speed sensor so your ABS wouldn't work.

According to the specs, TO-8030 has the 48-tooth ABS tone wheel, which should work for ST185.

The O'Reilly part #: 60-5031 will work for you and it comes with the ABS ring. I replaced both sides on my car with this part #.
