I've seen some pictures of GT4/Alltracs running staggered wheels. It was my understanding that most full time AWD cars required the wheels (or at least the tires) to be a square set up. Can someone clarify this for me?

The final outer diameter of the tires has to be square. You can technically use whatever setup you desire so long as the end result is within a few %, but the easiest thing to do is just run a fully square setup.

I have thought about this as well, I have a lot of history with mustangs and have thought about doing a 17x8/9 setup with 245/45 front and 275/40 rear.
