17x8/ 17x9 with 38+ offset

well, it says they're recommended for RWD... and I remember hearing that having wheels with different widths on the rear axle would mess w/the differential for our AWD systems

I thought it was if the diameter wasnt the same then you would kill your diff, I definately think you can run wider rear rims as long as the size of the tire matches with the diameter of whatever the front tire is, I could be wrong, but I swear thats what I have read in the past.

the rims would be different in weight... that makes for different rotational mass and would mess with the diff.... different size tires front and rear on equal sized rims would also cause this same problem due to different levels of grip

That guy will sell you a set of 4 for a decent price. The 38mm might be OK for the 8" width, but you may need a small spacer to push them out a little. I thought about getting a set of 17x9 from him for the 185.
