haltech e6k timing map how-to:
Gday,
If trying to create an ignition map, use the 'quickmap' options in the maps section. Follow the instructions as they appear. For an application like yours you would be looking at a map like:
15D30C15
this would give you 15 degrees timing at idle, advance of 30 deg at 0" by 3000 rpm, an extra 9 degrees vacuum advance and 15 degrees retard under boost. If you are running a 2 bar map sensor this will give you 15 degrees at 15 psi.
What you then need to do is go to your ign maps and you will see that all boost settings are 15 deg retarded. Use the control& arrow keys to select all the bars to the right of the map all the way to the bar with more advanced timing (around bar 15) once all selected use alt & l keys to linearise the map. This will give a smooth timing curve from 30 down to 15 degrees. You will need to do this for all ign maps from 0 to your RPM limit.
Hope that helps.
If you need a base map, log onto www.haltech.com and goto support and email them. They are most helpful and should have something to get you going. The hardest part is the ign setup page.

Cheers!

hope this helps
