St215 Swap questions

Postby Speedricer » Wed May 13, 2009 10:49 pm

I have my swap almost finished but I have some issues....
First issue is my stock tach doesn't work, the stock tach gets the signal from the igniter, with the st215 setup the signal comes from the ecu. I assume they send different voltage signals. The question I have is there a adapter or something that will allow me to use my stock tach?
Second issue is the motor will start up and run fine for about 35 seconds and then shut off. It acts like it is in a high idle (I dont't know the rpm...see issue one) mode then it acts like it wants to idle normal and dies.
I'm open to any ideas, thanks

1- tach problem : you need a tachometer adapter. Dr Tweak is selling these :

2- try to play with the screw on the trottle body (a set screw that act against the throttle to let air getting in = rising idle), maybe the idle became too low when the IAC valve is closing.

Report back!

I ordered an adapter.

I will try the idle screw when I can get out to my car again.

Thanks

Well I'm on the road now.... Apparently you need to have the fuel pump resistor grounded.
