Ok, here‘s my first real "mechanical" mod (if don‘t count de-cat and some other minor things like aftermarket rims or steering wheel :D )

After some doubts and searches I decided to go for a short shifter…
Initially I was thinking about EDM ST202 (2.0 GT) shifter rod in my OEM assembly (quite popular mod as far as I know), but after ineffective searches (it's very hard to find a parted out LHD ST202 or ST185 of any MY in my country) I went for a EDM ST182 (2.0 GTi) MY’92 whole shifter assembly

Some pics

even "sack" is different (shorter :D )

If honestly, I'm not very happy with this mod – now gear change is rougher... maybe I just need some time to get used to it

Nothing comes free. :D
You will need more effort with the shorter shifter.
Once you get used to the feeling, you will hate the longer throw one.

now I'm thinking about one thing: that ST182 assembly has some plastic "gear throw fixer/limiter/slider" that's not present on my OEM assembly (btw, ST185 MY'92 assembly also has some fixer, but a different one) - maybe it limits the gear throws too much (comparing to the original gear throws)

any thoughts?
