no more rav t-case = no push button center diff
now its just a close ratio alltrac box

someone should figure out how to do that push button awd lock with
viscous coupling that would be sweet

For those who use the rav4 Box, did you have to modify the rear dif ratio?

No, absolutely not.
The two transfers both have the same ratio.
The different ratio is in the gearbox being a different crownwheel and pinion, so the center and rear diffs just "follow" the changes from the front.

If the transfer diffs were different ratios then maybe youd get some oddball behaviour i think, although because its a viscous coupling it may just affect the torque split...but not sure on that, just speculating. :)

Standard diff appears well capable, certainly mines not given any hint of a complaint so far. :)

so its a rav box with gt4 front diff and transfer case?
any fitment issues with mounts, starter, clutch or axles that sort of thing besides the shift linkage?

this looks like it would make a great auto-x or rally box

Confusion reineth! :)

Its a rav 4 box. Rav 4 front dif ( its in the box) and a rav 4 transfercase.
Standard alltrac rear diff and propshaft.
All the other info you need is on celicatech, theres a writeup and an ongoing thread. Links already provided. :)

The GR/S/VZ/MZ all share the same pattern. From what I've seen a ridiculous hybrid engine could be made from the GR series. The fastest drag alltrac will probably consist of a 4GR/1GR hybrid in the future. The 1GR (4L) has a 94mm bore, 95mm stroke. The 4GR (2.5L) has a 83.1mm bore and a 76.9mm stroke. Drop the 1GR crank (factory forged) into the 4GR block and you could run ridiculous power with custom rods and pistons. If you really want to go nuts, slap the port/direct EMS from the 2GR-FSE on top (2GR is a 3.5L so it will handle it) with a twinscrew blower ~10psi.
