Well I've been to about 5-6 auto-x's. Today however, I went to my first were I was the "co-driver" in my good friends MR-2 Spyder (Man can that thing turn on a dime).
It was such a good experience I've decided to try and auto-x the Alltrac, just for fun.
At the end of the 9 hour race day, they had "free runs" and said "grab any car". So I got the Alltrac, my two buddies, all in helmets and lined up. They then yelled at me saying that I had hadn't run in the event... even though I was registered as a passenger they wouldn't let me run. =/
My buddy in his tC got a free run before they noticed... but I think my car stands out a little more.
It was a good time over all though, the only two cars that got more attention than mine were a Twin Turbo Dodge Viper (Massively riced out) and a Saab Sonett. I was in the parking lot away from the race, and I kept getting people coming up to me asking about it, and people leaving the rally to go check out my car. I finally just parked it in with the other cars because so many people were talking/looking at it. 8)
Everyone there was really nice, and were disappointed I wasn't going to run the Trac' so there is another auto-x on June 22 in Lewiston, ME that I will be attending and racing in.
See http://www.cumberlandmotorclub.com/ for details.
Oh, and... bit o advice... if you ever go to one of these... please wear sunscreen. I think I have cancer now. Probably the worst burn of my life.
I'll post some pics once I get them-
