Neither are in great shape, I did hack up the wiring and make it work, but it ran like shit, and I'm pretty sure it's cause I need a new cap and rotor, so I figured if I'm gonna get a new cap and rotor, I should just get the right dizzy first.
Do you think they are mechanicaly the same inside? Did it work well when you used the first gen? If you think they are the same, then I will just get a new cap and rotor.

i have a good st165 cap and rotor!
I used my st165 dizzy because i had bought new cap rotor wires etc for it. Work perfectly.
I actually had the st165 TPS, DIZZY, computer etc for a while on my st185 engine.
The ecu just sends the signal to modifty the timing, no proeblesm mechanically
