The first jdm series of st165 (like mine) didn't have a turbo pressure sensor. The fuel cut is calculated based on the afm signal and air temp... so you cannot get around the fuel cut without changing to different ecu.

No it will be waste of time.
Just convert to an st165 usdm ecu It just take a couple of wire to move/cut.
or st185 same (you can keep the st165 afm)
or st205 (best option) along with some 550cc injectors.
Also if you want to put the st185 ecu. you don't need anything.
For the pressure sensor, just feed the PIM pin of the st185 ecu with a voltage that doesn't go higher than fuel cut. (i think i spliced it on the water temp sensor.) you can check the voltage range in the BGB.
The turbo pressure sensor (tps) does not affect anything. It's just for fuel cut.
So he had a workshop install the 185 AFM with the 165 ECU, and tuned it (4hrs apparently on a dyno).
It was on a different dyno today for a power run (a club event)... it sat at under 9:1 AFR while on boost :bangshead:
Super rich, not happy.
So hes now considering the 185 AFM & ECU swap.
Any more details on what needs to be done to the loom?
Does the 165's loom plugs fit the ECU?
What pins need to be moved?
