shifter cables

well my shifter cables just went out on my 90 alltrac :x. It has 178000 miles and is all original 3sgte . I have researched changing them and agree with what i have found to take it to my mechanic lol . My question is while i am replacing them is there and thing in the area or anything ales that i should replace while there.Also where would be the best place to pick these up at . local parts store?

I replaced mine on my 165, and there really isnt anything that has to come apart to do it, except your entire center dash, lower dash, and hvac controls...so not much to replace there unless something breaks during removal.

Going to your mechanic though, that must be expensive.
