Me competing in one of the rounds of the Collingrove Hillclimbs last year...
I was mid-pack in times with ~8 WRX that were also competing, so i was quite happy with that.

Normally i run ~14.5PSI, but on track days ill turn it all the way up to 18PSI.
The Microtech ECU has pretty awesome launch-control/2-step, so the car is throwing flames out the exhaust and spooling ~10psi before I launch :D

Ouch thats some horrid body lift lol .. but sweet car all the way i love white gtfours for some reason , fatal attraction .

quick question though can i interest you a stay in wonderfully appealing canada with not too much fluffy white powder type stuff on the ground in exchange for that awsome beach front property lol .

Heh, actually the car has very little body roll, but the rear sway bar may be set a tad too stiff.
I took that corner too fast, was under steering horribly

Sure, we can trade :)
I did a stint in the AB Rockies (lived in Canmore), loved it. Want to get back ASAP.

Its been a busy two days...

New front left shock insert, as the old one had blown (KYB Excel-G).
New front left inner CV boot (old one had split).
New strut tops (from MadDat).
New steering rack boot (old one had split).
New tie-rod ends.
New alarm siren.
Fixed drivers side window squeaks.

The strut tops:

Nice GT4 - I like the black/white combo on the hood/bonnet. Strut tops - adjustable camber or more than that (since they are angled)

The engine bay look very good nice and clean. Interesting heat shield - assuming a thinner sheet metal? Or is it in addition to stock heat shield?

Either way I certainly love the looks and stance of the car.

One thing I miss about Australia - the beaches. I stayed with my relatives who live in Brisbane for 2 months - man it was gorgeous.

Thanks :)

The heatshield is this stuff: http://www.aclperformance.com.au/prod_heatshield.htm
Very easy to buy sheets of it here in Aus, and quite cheap (a $40 sheet was big enough to make that shield).
Its also easy to work with, bend, etc.

Beaches are great, but during these 38degC (~100degF) days, like today, i would rather be in the northern hemisphere skiing somewhere :)

I did some fuel & timing tuning this week, car now drives a lot better and should use less fuel than previously.

My new tweaked ignition map:
newwl.jpg

As its a Microtech ECU (=crap), it doesnt have a 3D ignition map, just two 2D maps.
The image is a screen cap of an excel sheet i use to better visualise and work out the timing.

Any more timing at the top end and itll ping, so i dont think i can do much better than this.
Might tweak in a few more degrees here and there in the mid load range though.

So yesterday I had a go at fixing my power steering issues.
Im hoping a better powersteering cooler and fresh PS fluid will do the trick.

First up was to move my intercooler lower (~5cm) and further forward (~3cm).
Main reason was to make room behind the intercooler for the new power steering cooler, but itll also should help with airflow onto the intercooler itself.

Before:

After:
eNpVjsFOwzAMhl8l8n2r7aRZcI87TEOqVGncp5BlLCIsU1sQCPHutBQO-PR_n_Vb9rKRz0G0wC0FaAZxLND6_nmotr5XXQpTiDkFrw4P5OqKkXCFekVO7a9j7EMpOfaqLW9R-etJdQe1_VHVvt0d0RCv77vdfNkInFPO0CTBCWuB4MMlzkwLj5fXl8e_PQm8z7XpNYcIi_n4NXYxTiCXp3K8hRGak-Da4P9hZjTGornjGjVpdOjMhq3W2pIja9By3Xx9A6gDRpg,.jpg

I then installed the new power steering cooler. Its a trans cooler from a Falcon.
Very big squeeze to make it fit!
Has about 3mm of clearence from the pop up headlights, is right against the headlight motor, and about 5mm clearance to the indicator light on the bumper.

Glad that you're enjoying her though...

How long have you had that swaybar, and what setting was it on? Crazy you don't often see that, glad it didn't cause an accedent though.

It was already installed on the car when i bought it, so i have no idea how old it is.
Really they should never break though, so this one must have had a fault.

I defective swaybar like this would never cause an accident unless it fell off the car (unlikley).
I continued driving the car for a week before i removed it.

So i finally got around to installing the Toyota crash bolts (camber bolts) yesterday, along with turning of the strut top mounts to adjust caster.

Installing these and turning the tops has given me about 1.5deg of extra caster and around 1.5deg of camber.
I did the wheel align at home using string lines, so i cant be too precise about the camber and caster measurements, but the toe is good at 1mm toe in.

The car as a result steers quite differently.
It tries to pull itself straight a lot more, and requires more effort of the steering wheel.
With a quick run through the hills, it feels like the car does have more front grip and stability, its quite a bit more confidence inspiring.

Next run up at Collingrove Hillclimb will be a good test.

Hey man, good to see your car on here. It's looking good. Do you think doing collingrove with a borked front shock might have helped that rear bar snap? just a thought.

Are those strut tops straight bolt in? Cos i need some new ones. $490 bucks seems a little steep though. Did you get a deal?

Lastly, GT4 CRUISE. ASAP. SORT IT OUT! :smokes:
