Post up your exhaust.

I'm trying to get an idea of how to build a nice exhaust. Main thing I'm worried about is screwing it up like my st184. They cut the resonator out and put a hot dog in and the car vibrates from the noise it causes rattles. I don't wanna end up with a loud car. So what's the best quiet system that still has a little bit of a note up in the rev range? Should I remove the cats and resonator and just run a muffler? Also should I run 2.5 inch or 3? I do have plans of a 450 hp set up but that's nt for awhile. It's gonna be stainless and my dad who is a welder is helping me. Cheers just trying to get an idea of what to do

A 3" Motoria twin tip, is more free flowing than stock and only increases the volume slightly.

You could modify the twin tips at the end, which limits the air flow the most on the whole system to get a quiet system that flows well. Or just least it as and see how much of a restriction to power it is.

On page 1, a 165 did an under axle exhaust as well as a white 185. Both were 3" systems too. Seems like it works but if you were to lower the car at all, the clearance would be pretty minuscule and you'd be scraping pretty bad...but sparks are cool right?

Nice! That looks good! Do you have any other shots? I'm curious, is it lowered and how's the clearance? It looks pretty tight but I've seen s lot worse.

Setup:
2.5" KO Downpipe
Stock midpipe (for now)
2.5" HKS Resonator + Muffler + Dual Tip (I think it's called a HKS Sport Exhaust? -- it's old/discontinued)
-- on a 1992 ST185 @stock power

im going to cut the axel back off and replace it with straight pipes. its going to from the three inch midpipe, into two 2 and half or three quarter inch pipes. and then out the back bumper, sticking out maybe three to four inches. its going to be loud.

omfg i cant believe this thread is still around.

3" TBH, no mufflers or cats...
just a 12in resonator on my midpipe...

sounds like DEATH.

this is on my SRT, but its still a turbo 4-banger.

undagrwnd,

hehe, its not my shop...someone local made the exhaust system for me.

the wheels are from League Racing, not a very much known brand orsomething like that...just some standard rims ;)

and thnx for the compliments :D

ahh thanks for clearing that up, but regardless.
good to see some quality work being done.

close up of wheels? *not threadjacking lol*
and maybe a shot from directly behind the car? to see the angle of the muffler.
