Serious tire size help

I have 17x9 wheels with 245-45-17 tires and as you can see they look terrible. I just put them on today and I'm very disappointed. So for all you tire guys what size tire do I need to go with to make the car look right. Would a 235 35 17 look right? I don't know..

245 doesn't seem to be the problem to me, but that your profile is way too big. A step down to 35 would work. If the tire is too wide, go with a 240/40 or 240/35.

i would say something like a 235/40r17 or maybe even a 35 series sidewall...but if your going to a 35 series..beware of potholes....im currently running a 215/45r17... but they would be too narrow for your rims...

that 35 series is not as bad as i expected. I have 255/40 and I think mine looks decent.

I might consider a 35 profile for my next tire size though I have been happy with the 40 series.

Now this, I like. 240/35 would probably be something i'd consider too, but this looks good. I don't like stretched tires, I like them with some beef/cushion.
