lost of power

Postby dumpyy » Fri Jan 06, 2012 1:31 am

i just built this motor and tranny. when i drive the car with the waste gate unhooked it drives fine just not alot of power but when i hook it up the motor cuts out at 5500ish in 1st 4000ish in 2nd and around 3000ish in 3rd. power loss when i stomp on it then picks up when i pull my foot out of it. it will go a bit higher in the rpms if i got real light on the pedal. it started with the car bouncing abit at full boost. now its almost un drivable  . thanx for your time. this is an st 165

sorta sounds like your hitting boost/fuel cut, I assume it has a similar system to the ST185, but im unfamiliar with the 165 so can offer a solution sorry :)

so i bypassed the vac line on that sensor and intake. i still get a fuel cut as soon as i open the throttle all i can think is that there is something else cutting the fuel???????????????????????????????? it also seems to get to full boost till the car heats up? i boosted down the block the turned the corner and daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no fuel ??????????

I had a similar problem. it was in my ecu. open it up and see if you have burnt resistors.

Also make sure your pcv line that bolts on the valve cover has the proper small vac line hooked up. if you put boost to the pcv line it will stall out, and over time it could blow out seals

are you sure you're not doing the opposite, and overfueling it?
