Production Numbers

I am confused about the numbers of alltracs imported to the United States. I'm interested in the number of ST185's and the breakdown for each model year. One member listed about 1,700 from 1990 to 1993. That seems rather low. The FAQ information shows about 26,000 over the same time period. Thanks.

ST185 US Sales:
Year----Units
1990----803
1991----591
1992----271
1993----81
Total 1,746

26,000 include GT-fours which were sold outside US.

From what I've read here, Canada was not included in those, and we received a much higher proportion of AT's compared to our population - something like 700+.

Think it means that 'retail' is what was sold at the dealership.
The rest were probably sent back to Japan???

Gary, could you explain "Retail" vs. "All"? Thanks!

Retail means those that were sold from Toyota (the manufacturer) to Toyota dealers for sale off Toyota dealer lots.

All includes those retail numbers PLUS vehicles that were sold wholesale to everyone that ISNT a Toyota dealer such as rental agencies, private companies, etc. Since it doesnt specify wholesale only, this number would also include vehicles that were donated aka "goodwill".

We run thru the same reports at NNA. We have a monthly meeting to run thru the numbers of vehicles sold to retail, and wholesale outlets.. The only number we dont pay attention to is donations and thats only because it has no effect on the department I work in..
