Fuel cut?

So I think i'm experiencing fuel cut? But i'm alos not so sure. I have watched a few videos and it seems like a very gentle thing for everyone else when it happens. When mine decides to do it , every now and again it seems to be very violent. I have a 3rd gen 3sgte with a 3rd gen ecu and a 2 bar map. I am running 11-12psi and I get decent pulls sometimes on up to 7k rpms if i'm at like 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. But when I put it o the floor and I hit full boost its more like 5500 when it kills. So a few questions are, Can I run a fcd I have been told no but I read that mr2 guys are running the hks fcd with there 3rd gens and map sensors. Also is it a violent surge when it happens or am I experiencing something else? Where should the car redline at? I will try to get some videos of it but that may take a while. THANKS

do you have an aftermarket fuel pump? i checked your other posts and it says you got an st165. do not get an FCD if you got a 3rd gen. fuel cut is at 17.4 psi and at that pressure is pretty much the max you will get out of the turbo so theres no point of going for more. if you want to push it more then get a standalone to be safe. do you have a wideband to monitor your AFR? do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

No afr I have a third Gen engine in an st165. 3 inch exhaust all the way back. I was told the map I have. A 2nd Gen 2 bar is what's holding me back. Not sure about the fuel pump.

im not sure what you mean by 2 bar but its really important that you replace your fuel pump because of the 3rd gen ( 17 psi+ 540cc injectors) st165 pump just wont do it

If you are running a 3rd gen ECU, you need the 3rd gen 2.5 bar MAP sensor. No ifs, ands or buts. It is required to get fueling correct. Check the part number on your MAP sensor and post it up to verify.

Yup here's mine. And the mr2 version I was under the impression it was a3 bar

I did and they recommended 89420-17050 that on and every thing I read says its a 3 bar map. ? Sorry just really confused and want to get it right the first time I buy this 300$ Part.
