Can someone theoretically take a ST205 body shell and put it on a ST185 chassis? Just a question, so no flaming pls. Lol

Sorry, but no. Both cars are unibody, there is no chassis to switch out unless you're ready to cut the entire floor out of both cars to exchange. Far more reasonable to start with a later model and try to install the AWD drivetrain, which is still going to be more fabrication than you would want to do. I also imagine that this has been discussed before on this forum.

There was the guy in Japan who added a whole 205 front end to a 185, but I am sure it was no easy task.

What's possible depends entirely on your skills.

If a guy can marry a SAAB to an ST165:

OR to a Miata:

OR to a newer SAAB:

OR a front-wheel-drive Integra to rear-wheel-drive Mustang:

then certainly it's possible to "take a ST205 body shell and put it on a ST185 chassis." Whether or not it makes sense to do it, or if you have the skills, is an entirely different matter.

Don't forget the MA Ford powered ST165, or the Civic shell on a Corvette, or a Civic shell on a WRX, or the RWD Probe.
