I just removed my abs and ran all new lines with an adjustable p-valve. It was a giant pain, but way easier than running all the lines for the ABS

PICS :D

The car is completely stripped so updates have stopped until the new engine is ordered and delivered. I did buy a new car though :eek:fftopic:

I will get some pics of it tomorrow. It was pretty straight forward. There's a t block for the front brakes then there's a single line that runs to the p-valve then to a t block for the rear brakes. I haven't had a chance to adjust the brakes just yet, so the bias is probably off a bit, but it stops extremely well.

I will be doing this same thing as I think it will be easier to just do custom t-blocks than trying to find old 20 year old prop valves ... plus adjustable is a plus ... :notworthy:

Been quite a few months since the last update but it got cold and I got lazy. Picked up a new heater core and brake booster. Installed both and began reassembling the interior.

The new brake booster. I lost the nuts that hold the master cylinder in place so I need to add that to my Lithia order.

Next up is suspension:

Toyheadauto bushings http://toyheadauto.com/PerformancePages ... hings.html

Possibly 5252 Motorsports coilover adapters http://5252motorsports.blogspot.com/201 ... pters.html if they will make them for me. Otherwise I might make the investment into Ceika custom coilovers or simply koni inserts.

More parts to order. Probably going to just go to O'reillys and grab a remand' steering rack, AC Delco branded.

More to come!

I may do that. It seems to float about $250.

I took my hub carriers to the machine shop to get pressed out with new bearings and seals. The machinest said one or both of the hubs may be toast. Since I have ABS, the dealer wanted $300+ for them, Lithia wants $250, and no one carries aftermarket. I think I'm just going to go with the non-ABS hubs if it turns out that they are toast.

Today's part haul. Toyota remand rack, new grommets, few needed bolts, gaskets, tie rod ends, and ball joints.

Also ordered a flocking kit http://www.flockit.com/index.php/order/enhanced-nylon-mini-flocker-kit-nylon-fibers.html. Because racecar

I'm still debating on Ceika coilovers, Tein SS, or BC Racing coilovers. If I decided against the coilover route, I would have to cut the rear struts and weld new tops to replace them since they are sealed units long discontinued.

http://ceikaperformance.com/Type-1M-Coilover-Kit-p35.html

Ceika coilovers seem like your run-of-the-mill Taiwan made coilovers. The difference here is that 1) they are made for the ST165 which means that they will bolt on without modification and 2) the owner of the company owns a ST165 which is a nice plus. Lots of customization options including spring rates, dampers, valving etc but the 1 year warranty and lack of reviews in the performance space is a drawback.

http://www.amazon.com/BC-Racing-Series-Coilovers-CELICA-AWD/dp/B006NI9XQA

BC Racing is another clone coilover from Taiwan (Ksport, Megan, etc) but has US resellers, fast shipping, and seemingly proven performance across the board. Same 1 year warranty.

http://www.andysautosport.com/products/tein__GST18-BUSS4.html

Tein SS is the most expensive with the same warranty, US resellers, and 8kg/4kg setup BC Racing has.

Ground Control is another option but having to cut and weld the rear isn't looking too appealing.

I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do with the car yet which is whats making this such a difficult decision.

I settled on a pair of Ceika coilovers and ordered this morning as they are the only company that makes direct fit coilovers for my car.

I wasn't entirely sure on the spring rates but since the owner of the company has a ST165, I left it up to them. I had a few email exchanges with them prior to this order and the person who was helping me was very informative and prompt with their responses. After I placed the order I let them know and he replied pretty quickly to suggest a spring rate as well as adding camber adjustment plates at no additional cost (it was a $240 option at checkout). He suggested 7kg/7kg so I went with that unless anyone else has different suggestions. This won't be a DD and the interior will probably stay bare.

Dropped off some suspension stuff to be powder coated by Meister Werks https://meister.us.com/. His shop is only a few minutes from my house and that was a cool experience. Saw some interesting MK1 rocco's parked in the driveway as well as some cool custom wheels. Makes me miss my MK2.

Ordered some additional parts this morning.

Parts order from PrimeMR2.

3rd Gen 3SGTE from JspecAuto. $2295 shipped with residential liftgate. :D

New (remand) steering rack in, new brake booster in, and now I'm stuck. I removed the steering column as well as the steering rack to do the heater core and now I have no idea how to align the two together. I can't seem to find anything indication of "center" on the rack and I seem to be missing the steering section of the BGB. I'll have to research this or ask around on how to solve this one.

I also picked up a new bottle jack for the hoist and assembled it for Monday afternoon. I made some space in the garage for the motor as well.

Well some crazy shit happens when you browse craigslist. I stumbled upon a near pristine condition, original owner Celica All-trac about 2 1/2 hours away from me. It is absolutely gorgeous. The owner was an older gentlemen whose wife owned the car since new, purchased in Michael's Toyota in Bellevue. She passed away a few years ago and he just drove the car the weekends. For what I paid for it, it was a STEAL. I only have a few pictures but you'll get the idea.

The interior is absolutely immaculate. Seats were recently reupholstered. Everything works, including lumbar support and cruise control ( ). The engine bay is clean but its leaking at the valve cover. Power delivery seems to be so so but the car has 200k+ miles. I'll get more pics later this evening.

That is a beautiful, clean '165. I've always loved that color... there aren't many of those out there.

I take it you're planning on putting the coilovers and ST205 engine/trans into this one?

Yeah. Someone came and took the shell yesterday. They will put it to good use.
