ST185 RHD conversion??

Postby Akihero » Tue Apr 28, 2015 12:48 am

So i have a full clip with doors, rear end, no wires cut... a very clean and running clip. So i was wondering has anyone done the RHD conversion in the USA or even the LHD in EU/CA? i was wondering how difficult it was to work with the firewall, any tips or suggestions also any pictures of the work being done would be appreciated.

This was a conversion performed on a 6th Gen Celica but it gives a good overview of the process and lists a lot of the items needed from the donor car to complete the work.

For the amount of labour to do it you'd be better off importing a JDM 185, I believe 1989's and some 1990's are legal to import now.

just buy a RHD car. It'll be cheaper.

I used a donor RHD car and converted it to LHD. The amount of labor and funny things that need to be changed is CRAZY.
The wiring under the dash is completely different. So many things to list.
