Thanks :)
It was my first go at that event, and at driving a closed-road rally/hillclimb.
We only got 4 runs during the day, so not a lot of time to really learn the road and start to push the limits :(
I finished 38th out of 120 entrants, so not too bad really.

Not bad for a 25 year old car. Haha
Nice driving for sure!
What significant new cars did you beat out there?

Hah, thanks.
Its hard to tell what kinda of cars i was quicker than as the timing results didnt list type of car. Im too lazy to match up the entry list to the results :P

Wow, a lack of videos being posted in here :(

So 1 year later... im at it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL9EquzTLqI

Best time was ~6sec quicker than last year, this time i finished 22nd out of 140 entrants, and 2nd in my class.

Video is recorded by a generic 1080p dashcam.
Data is recorded by the Megasquirt3 ECU.
Dials are overlayed using RaceRender PC software.

Another fantastic looking event, I wish the states did more stuff like this. What I would do for a timed, closed road run on some mountain roads back home. Car looks like it's doing well my friend, big turbo coming soon?

There has to be events around the US somewhere like this. Sometimes they just aren't easy to find.
We are lucky living in a city with great hills roads very close by. Councils do keep making it more difficult for these closed public road events to run though :(
I would love to compete in your big parking lot Autocross style events. We dont have any here at all as there are no parking lots big enough in this city that are unused even for a day.

New turbo would be great, but im actually pretty happy with the way its driving right now.
I think ill spend the next few months working out a decent brake option, and tidying up some loose ends.

Heres my last track event, only messed with the go pro for one session. This event was SUPER cold, I had to block half the radiator to keep the car within operating temp. Anyhow, I grabbed windshield footage this time for a better perspective. Lengthy but worth the watch I hope. :D

Nice driving, looks like the car is running very well! Wish we had tracks like that in Canada.

Wow thats a nice circuit. Thanks F1! :)

Nice driving too. Didnt look like you were pushing too hard, but you were nice and smooth everywhere.
That Mclaren passing at ~10min mark was quite amazing.

Thank you sir, I have a lot more to give for sure. This was the first day with the new big brakes and I was barely touching on their capabilities. I need a sway bar to stay flatter in the long, fast corners, that would gain me a lot of time. My second lap in the video was roughly a 2:50 with a single traffic delay, the Porsche. That section right before I passed him he was holding me up pretty good compared to what I'm able to do through there when its clear. My buddy has a new Porsche GT4 and he's turning just under 2:40s driving at about an 8 out of 10, so I'm pretty happy with where my classic is. The McLarens are BRUTAL fast, it's unreal.

Sure, but the track is used by cyclists and joggers year round, and when cars are allowed on the track, the limit is 30km/h :(
