I have a oil leak coming from behind my oil filter housing and I can't find but one of the seals behind the housing. The one I need before taking it apart is the bigger deal parts number 96732-31055 any may know a fix and somewhere that sells this seal. Seal is discontinued and I tried three different Toyota parts dealers

Yup, those are the two that I bought for my ST165, let me know if you want those.

Try 96732-31060 or 15517-88380 as a possible replacement for the discontinued o-ring. 96732-31060 is from an early ST185, and 15517-88380 from a later ST185. I have the big O-ring for the ST185 in my parts collection. I measured it and it's 65mm outside diameter, 3mm thick, if this helps any.

I appreciate the info I'll maybe just order the one for the st185 and see how they match up

I have the same problem, and you just gave me an idea on what to check out.

I thought I had this as a problem, but it was massive blow by and oil was coming out the dipstick shaft, even after being secured down with a spring.

It looked like it was leaking behind the filter, but after very careful cleaning and observation it turned out to be the dipstick.

I spayed down the area real good with brake clean started it let it idle up to temp with a little bit of throttle and watched to see where the was fresh oil. Which mine ended up being obvious since I could see it pooling around the filter housing.

Yeah, I power washed the engine bay, idled it, and looked for the leak.

If its a bad head gasket, or blow by, the leak will only happen under boost, so you should drive down the block at WOT, pull over, and look for leaks.

The early model st185 big o-ring did fit it's slightly bigger then stock but it will sit down in the groove of the housing.
