I figured id start a project thread of my own. I was waiting to do one for my st185 but this project is kinda first priority and in the way so ill start this one first.

Picked the car up for $600, included in the price was a new exedy clutch. Ive been looking for an awd, manual trans, 4-door, toyota, for quite sometime. This car fits the bill to a T. The only thing that i could ask for is flip up headlights.

This is what she looked like when i picked her up.

A frankenstein of parts i had around the shop. So far its got a 92 celica 5sfe block with oil cooler, 00 camry head, 00 camry oil pump, and 00 camry tubular exhaust manifold. The rest is 89 camry 3sfe off the old block. I did the water pump and t-belt while i was in there. New cam seal, valve cover gasket, and intake manifold gasket.

I also picked up 4 new strut inserts and strut mounts. To freshen up the old suspension. Ive got a set of eibach springs off a celica im going to try putting on when i do the suspension. Also have new rear rotors, pads, parking brake cables, and parking shoes.

I should have the motor backnin next weekend fingers crossed. All thats left now is to grind the block and install the trans and it can go in. More pictures when i have more progress.

Cool project! I like how the engine bay itself is clean, but every bracket attached to it is rusted to hell.

Body work will wait till summer time when i can paint it after.

Pulled the tank, rust lots of rust. Fuel pump bracket was shot. So i drilled out the old lines and inserted NiCopp line in its place. Used gas tank repair putty to seal around the line where i stuck it threw.

Drove the car down the road for the first time today. Need to adjust the tps sensor and the ignition timing.

I found an interesting bit of info. While redoing the rear brakes i found my self in the need of some calipers. The ones on the car sized solid. I had new rotors, pads, parking shoes, and cables but no calipers. Got to thinking ive got some new calipers off a 90 celica gt-s i parted out last year. I figured what the hell ill see if they fit. Turns out they bolt right on, the pads are even the same. Check it out

I ended up going with the celica calipers and camry rotors. The camry rotor sat centered in the celica's caliper bracket. So fyi 90-91 celica gt-s calipers and brackets bolt on.

Next on the agenda for this weekend is replace all 4 struts, strut mounts and hopefully the springs with the eibachs I've got from a celica. More pics soon hopefully with a drop.

Small update spent alot of time cutting out the rust and replacing it with new metal. Got a LE fwd parts car of the same color. So i swapped over the power windows and interior. I put a set of k-sport coilovers in and got the a/c working. More to come in the fall when ive got more time for it. Ive got a gen4 3sgte on the shop floor waiting to go in and a lsd diff for it. Some pics

Damn man she's lookin good. Not a day goes by where I don't miss that car, but I know I would have just let her rot into the ground worse than I already did. Glad someone's taking good care of her. I literally was just wondering about this car a couple weeks ago, always nice to see the update

I heard you're putting together a pretty sweet 92 all Trac for a friend with a crazy clean engine bay

New kicks bigger tires less dirt nasty low. I also installed a st205 lsd, whiteline rear sway bar, and a st165 exhaust. FYI if you want to go lsd in the rear you need celica axles. For some reason the camry has a narrow bolt pattern on the stubs.
