Yeah, thats my problem too... i have terrible memory, and the courses can be quite complicated.
I stick the map over the dashboard so i can look at it mid course.
I think remembering the courses is something ill get better at as time goes on.

Seems like many people missed the clip of my testdrive in my builthread so I might as well post it here. This is how my 775whp/840nm st205 BEAMS 5S-GTE acts on the road. Mind you that I don´t have full throttle from the beginning. If you listen closely you can actually hear when I put the foot down. 1st is pretty fast, then it takes a split second to pick up boost in second and a few seconds later I hit the limiter in 3rd AT ~175KM/H OR ~109MPH and there is no wheelslip!

A couple of my videos from the hillclimb competition i entered on Saturday.

2-step launch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDHb7BcFHCQ
Full track in-car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWwfDFi70Zw

There were ~80 cars competing that day, and the only cars/drivers with better times were a couple of Porsche GT3's :)
I also had the fastest first split time of the day (time to that first corner/crest) of 6.60sec.

It was a heap of fun. Its great throwing around such a well balanced GT4 :)

I'm getting caught up on this season of the WRC and saw this bit during the preview for Finland about the few non-Scandanavian winners of the event, the first of which was Carlos Sainz in his 4th gen GTFour. I uploaded the full clip on the past winners which has a bit of vintage rally footage including some nice 4th and 5th gen GTFour stuff in there. Video is unlisted but you should be able to watch it directly here [be sure to pick 720p50 for some wonderfully smooth HD]:

Dang, I really wanted to see this! Video didn't load, says: "This video contains content from Red Bull, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."

Red Bull? Pretty sure nothing in there has anything to do with those idiots, and oddly I can still watch it when I'm logged in. I'll toss it in my Dropbox and if anyone wants the link they can PM me.

Thanks :)
It was my first go at that event, and at driving a closed-road rally/hillclimb.
We only got 4 runs during the day, so not a lot of time to really learn the road and start to push the limits :(
I finished 38th out of 120 entrants, so not too bad really.

Hah, thanks.
Its hard to tell what kinda of cars i was quicker than as the timing results didnt list type of car. Im too lazy to match up the entry list to the results :p

Video is recorded by a generic 1080p dashcam.
Data is recorded by the Megasquirt3 ECU.
Dials are overlayed using RaceRender PC software.

Another fantastic looking event, I wish the states did more stuff like this. What I would do for a timed, closed road run on some mountain roads back home. Car looks like it's doing well my friend, big turbo coming soon?

There has to be events around the US somewhere like this. Sometimes they just aren't easy to find.
We are lucky living in a city with great hills roads very close by. Councils do keep making it more difficult for these closed public road events to run though :(
I would love to compete in your big parking lot Autocross style events. We dont have any here at all as there are no parking lots big enough in this city that are unused even for a day.

New turbo would be great, but im actually pretty happy with the way its driving right now.
I think ill spend the next few months working out a decent brake option, and tidying up some loose ends.
