Slim head gasket for ST185. Stock head and pistons?

Postby ST185l » Sat Feb 18, 2017 3:38 pm

Good afternoon. My question is whether someone has mounted a thinner (slim) head gasket than the original one (3sgte 2 GEN) with the original pistons and the original cylinder head.

How thick? I want to increase the compression ratio, without changing the cylinder head. But I do not know how much distance the valves have with respect to the piston head at its maximum opening

Thank you

Not knowing what else you have done to it my recommendation would be a .8mm thick gasket as that is what TRD sold as a replacement for the stock setup. Could also use a cometic(or another brand) 1mm gasket for a slight bump.

From what I have read stock is 1.4mm thick

From memory the "TRD" 185 head gasket became the 205 head gasket, so just order one of those. Somewhere on here are pictures detailing the differences.
