Speedo stopped working. Help?

Postby Nickzendar » Tue Jun 06, 2017 4:11 am

Went out to the movies today and when I was headed home I noticed that my speedo was not longer working it was just sitting at 0. Since I bought the car the speedo shook a little but nothing crazy. Does anyone know what happened or how to fix it?

Alltracs have mechanical speedometer. Therefore, the driven gear in the sensor can fail, as well as the shaft. Or in some cases the gear inside the transmission can also fail. However, in most cases (this is what happened to my Alltrac btw), the 90 degree elbow case that provides the signal for the Cruise Control tends to go bad. Your best bet is start by checking the cable that connects to the speedometer, and move on from there.
